 I had only 6 minutes left in a recent class but had promised my students that I would show them how to make a quick custom ring. Well, I blew the deadline by 2 minutes... (And I probably spent 3 minutes in explaining as I went along but I won't mention that.) :)

If you are new to Rhino you may wonder...What is the significance of curve degree? This short video explains curve degree, how it influences control point editing on that curve, and graphically demonstrates how that influences the resulting surface of curve extrusion.  In this +- 20 minute video, Joel and Gary demonstrate two similar, yet different approaches to making a 7-gem ring. Starting with a shank a curve and a single gem, they both build the upper part of the ring including gem placement, under-bezels, and prongs.
