In this +- 20 minute video, Joel and Gary demonstrate two similar, yet different approaches to making a 7-gem ring. Starting with a shank a curve and a single gem, they both build the upper part of the ring including gem placement, under-bezels, and prongs.

Trust me, you have 4 minutes for this quick demonstration of the new rendering capabilities of Rhino 6. In this video the two cads tackle the veins of a leaf. Joel McFadden and Gary Dawson show ways to get a realistic leaf shape for use in jewelry. Keep your clients smiling when you make your workflow more efficient. It's a manufacturing mindset that helps to make that happen! The short video below is an excerpt from recent training that discusses filleting in terms of surface junctures and spruing. Using the concept of negative space, Gary explains why this is so important in CAD design to accommodate typical jewelry manufacturing processes. On Monday, May 20th, I will be presenting a paper at the Santa Fe Symposium on Jewelry Manufacturing Technology on the topic of how we can use CAD in our jewelry workshops to save time and money in repair and restoration, while making our work environments more safe, comfortable and productive. The video clip below is a tiny part of that upcoming presentation. This short video demonstrates flowing cutters along a subcurve (created from an isocurve) to place cutters, prongs and gems in place on an eternity style ring. Here's a cutter build technique that takes only seconds to create cutters in place from the interior surfaces of your bezel. Enjoy! Using Rhino 6 A brief demo in the Video below about support strategies for all Resin Printers. |
